Harvest Festival 22nd September 2024

Guides and Brownies Day 29th June 2024
Making good use of our garden.
Three Churches in Little Common
Our recent meeting, at our own church, was led by Janine, our recently appointed Community Chaplain. We used the "Prayer in the Morning" service from the Methodist Worship Book. Janine chose the reading, the Marriage at Cana, and gave a talk on the reading.
Church Roof and building renovations
The extensive "Phase 1" work on the Church roof has been completed. The refurbishment and re-decoration has also been completed.
Wheelchair Accessibility
At our Church Council meeting in October 2024 it was decided to improve the wheelchair accessibility of our main entrance and side entrance. This work is due to be carried out on 27th and 28th February 2025.
Foodbank
Little Common Methodist Church shares in initiatives organised through "Churches Together in Bexhill" to promote outreach to the local community. The advantage of this approach ensures that all denominations work together, providing a wide group of volunteers.
One of these projects is the "Foodbank" in Bexhill. Our congregation give generously to provide non-perishable items eg tins and packets of food.
Foodbank is a standby for families who are waiting for delayed benefits. It is run on a voucher system supplied by social services and other reliable organisations.
Garden News
Our hedges have been lowered again to open up the view of our buildings and activities to the community in which we are situated. It is hoped that this will help significantly in our mission to serve that community. It will also help trades-people and visitors to find us!
Our garden is a pleasant green space and is an asset to the community as well as our church.
The blueberry plant had a good crop of berries which were covered to protect them from birds. The gooseberry bush also had a good crop. The nut bush has not produced any nuts yet, we are hopeful that it will eventually!
Daffodils and narcissi are in bud now as is the magnolia tree.
We are having thoughts about our gardens being made into a community garden.
Wheelchair Accessibility
Our front entrance doors have been replaced with doors which have a lower threshold for improved wheelchair accessibility. Grateful thanks to Rother District Council who awarded a grant of £1,000 towards this project.
