Our Church Mission Statement

Church in the Community - Community in the Church

Little Common

Details of our church services can be found on the Prayer and Worship page.

We have regular Sunday morning services which begin at 10.30 am.

Refreshments are served in the vestibule after morning services. Please stay if you can.

We belong to the Hastings, Bexhill and Rye Methodist Circuit.  Once a quarter there is a Circuit Service at 3.00 pm, usually at another church, and no morning service at Little Common.  However, the church is usually open for a time.  On Sunday 18th May, a service of Morning Prayers was led by Janine Scothern.  The circuit service took place at St Leonards-on-Sea Methodist Church and was the Easter Offering Service.

Coffee Morning

Our weekly coffee morning is on Fridays from 10.00 until 11.30am. Everyone is welcome. Please just arrive and leave when you wish.

Christian Aid Coffee Morning 2025

The photo below shows our Christian Aid Coffee Morning 2024, which was also attended by some members of other churches in our circuit together with some of our friends from St Mark's Anglican and St Martha's Catholic churches in Little Common.

Churches Together - "Three Churches in Little Common"

Our Church belongs to the "Three Churches in Little Common".  The other two Churches are St Mark's Anglican and St Martha's Catholic. We have regular meetings on the third Wednesday morning in the month at 11.00am. There is a devotional time for about 1/2 hour followed by refreshments. Everyone is welcome.  The three churches take turns at hosting and leading the event.  It is mainly lay-led.

Other Groups

A Brownie group meets at our Church, as do various community groups. Please see the Booking Little Common Page for further details.

Lay-worker

We are very pleased that a lay-worker has been chosen for Little Common following interviews, as mentioned above.  We are delighted that Janine Scothern has been appointed as Community Chaplain and Outreach Worker to work with our church.

Connections Cafe

This new group is for people with dementia and their carers.  It is held on Thursday mornings in the church hall.  We are very pleased we can support this event as a Church.
